Mo'olelo is an online, twelve week directed study course in the practical application of traditional Hawaiian values & insights as tools for contemporary life. The online course is an in-depth study of Ka Hana Pono, a practice derived from ancient tradition, that aligns mental and emotional energy with physical sentience & spiritual connectionto arrive at a place of 'pono'. Pono is a personal state, wherein one is 'righteous''with self, Spirit & othersin harmony & in balance. The learning materials for this course are Ka Hana Pono, the book & cards.
During our time together you will:
- Practice passing through 'doorways' back to Spirit by working the exercises, and applying them to your daily experiences.
- Integrate the lessons learned in practicing the skills by expressing your experience of discovery through Mo'olelo, which are weekly reports on your practice that you post to your online 'ohana (family, clan,'tribe'da resta da group).
You learn through doing, & you really learn through sharing. Your shared experiences working the practice during the twelve weeks with your online 'ohana is an integral part of learning this eminently pragmatic metaphysical practice. Mo'olelo, in Hawaiian, are stories shared. It's how wisdom was passed along in traditional culturesthrough the stories, through the songs of Na Kupuna, the ancestors.
I offer the course, & my participation in it, free of charge. There are two costs associated with presenting the course online, that I ask haumana (students) to share with me. One cost is the bulletin board service that provides the online 'classroom'. The other is the presentation of a ho'okupu to our 'kahu' (or guardian).
In accord with native tradition, the mana (power, energy) of all endeavors, most particularly those of an educational/spiritual nature, are guarded by kapu. We are honored to have a kahu who's dedicated her life to the reclamation of personal power help hold & direct the integrity of sacred healing space for us during our three months together. Though she will not interact directly with haumana, her presence is eminently felt throughout these months.
A fee of $5 per month (or $15 for the three month length of course) from each participant, covers these two costs. The fee is collected through PayPal just prior to the start of class.* My goal is to make this information as readily available as possible; so if the monthly charge is beyond budget for you at the moment, please email me & we'll work something out.
