Lohe! (listen), kupuna always say. So you can listen to the words & chants that make up this practice of pono, sound files are included in the Mo'olelo course. Check 'em out & be sure you can hear them.
The sound files are for Windows Media Player, meaning you need the player installed on your computer to hear them. Chances are you already have it (comes with Windows). If you do, when you click on this link you'll hear...
The Bowl of Light.
If you can't (& your speakers are turned on, & you have a sound card - you know, the obvious kine stuff!) you can download windows media player free. Go there and download whatever player corresponds w/ your computer type. Or you can download it from the page above that contains the Bowl of Light story. Install it however they tell you to.
E hiki no (et voila!) - you get 'em - in streaming audio. Hopefully!
The exercise: Check out the link(s) above & report back. Can you hear 'em?
BTW - Windows Media Player was chosen for the sound because versions are available for both PC & MAC, and is better sound quality than other options. Cyber-space, though, has its limitations, so I keep getting requests for a sound option that does not require any computer involvement - whatsoever! And everyone whos asked has been quite emphatic on this point! :>) So I see Im not the only one w/ a tenuous relationship to technology. Can go that route. Order info is on the Ka Hana Pono website.
As I say, I am no wizard of computer magic by a LONG shot. It's only by the grace & hard work of my techno-competent husband this course exists online at all. I mahalo him daily! In each of our lives there exits someone (usually someone under ten years old!) who knows from computers. Especially YOUR computer - its type, its configurations & all li'dat. If cannot-cannot get sound working, ask your own wizard (or around your circle until you find one!) how to download the sound files for you. That's another way to hear them that's independent of being online. Allegedly is an easy thing to do. Enjoy!
Aloha mai, Connie
